Shine's Countdown to Summer Fun 2024!

Summer is our favorite season at Shine and we can’t wait to share with you all of the fun activities and programs offered locally! We’ll also be posting daily on Instagram and Facebook!

Boomers! Irvine: This amusement center offers a variety of activities, including mini-golf, go-karts, and arcade games. They also host sensory-friendly days with adjusted settings to accommodate children with sensory sensitivities.

Pretend City Children's Museum: This interactive museum in Irvine offers sensory-friendly events with reduced lighting and noise, providing a comfortable environment for neurodiverse children.

Pacific Marine Mammal Center: Located in Laguna Beach, this center allows children to learn about marine mammals in a calm and educational setting. They offer special tours and programs for children with diverse needs.

My Gym: With locations in Yorba Linda and Huntington Beach, My Gym offers classes and camps designed to help children of all abilities build strength, coordination, and social skills in a supportive environment.

Knott's Berry Farm: This amusement park in Buena Park offers a Guest Assistance Program (GAP) for guests with disabilities, including neurodiverse children, to help them enjoy the park with accommodations.

OC Autism Family Center: Offering various programs and activities specifically designed for children on the autism spectrum, including summer camps, social skills groups, and recreational activities.

Irvine Spectrum Center: This shopping and entertainment center has a sensory-friendly movie program at the Edwards Irvine Spectrum theater, providing a relaxed movie-going experience.

Adventure Playground in Irvine: A place where children can engage in creative and physical play, including activities like mud slides and fort building. It offers a relaxed, unstructured play environment.

The Sensory Space: Located in Laguna Hills, this indoor sensory gym offers open play sessions, classes, and therapies tailored to the needs of neurodiverse children.

Chuck E. Cheese's Sensory Sensitive Sundays: Participating locations in Orange County open two hours early on the first Sunday of each month, with reduced lighting and noise, food, and games for children with autism and other special needs.

OC Parks and Recreation: Many parks, such as Irvine Regional Park, offer nature programs and sensory-friendly events. Check their website for specific programs designed for children with special needs.

OC Zoo: Located within Irvine Regional Park, this small zoo offers a quieter environment for children to enjoy animals native to the southwestern United States.

Angel Stadium's Quiet Room: For families attending a baseball game, the stadium offers a Quiet Room where neurodiverse children can take a break from the noise and excitement.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts: This performing arts center offers sensory-friendly performances and events, ensuring a welcoming environment for children with sensory sensitivities.

Sensory Gardens at Sherman Library & Gardens: This garden in Corona del Mar has sensory-friendly areas where children can explore different textures, scents, and sights in a calm environment.

BounceU Sensory Bounce: This indoor inflatable play center offers sensory bounce sessions specifically designed for children with sensory processing disorders, providing a fun and safe environment.
